Thallus pale fawn, thin, smooth, glossy. Ascomata black, conspicuous, scattered, numerous, open, straight, curved or sinuous, usually simple, occasionally branched, immersed, 1–5 mm long, 0.2–0.3 mm wide, with a thin thalline margin. Disc black, finely white-pruinose. Proper exciple completely carbonised, thick, wide at the base, tapering upwards. Hymenium
100–120 µm thick. Ascospores biseriate, elongate-ellipsoidal, 8–9-locular, 25–37 × 8–10 µm. CHEMISTRY: Stictic acid. |

An uncommon, corticolous species in north-eastern Qld; also in French Guyana, Mexico, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia and the Hawaiian Islands. | ||
